I’ve tried and tried to search for the answer to my question. Can someone please explain, step by step, how to make photoshop leave color alone?

I have a website with multiple images. I want to edit a single image. I don’t care how the colors look in photoshop to my eye, as long as the photos are the same and photoshop doesn’t mess with the ones that are there. If photoshop does adjust the color, then it will not match all the other photos I haven’t edited in photoshop.

I try to turn of color management, but it doesn’t matter. Once I save the file, it is forever changed and no longer the same color as everything else. I never had this problem before I upgraded to Photoshop CS2.

I’ve tried to read about color management – many times. I just can’t seem to find a way to make photoshop leave my colors alone.

Thanks!

May be something like.

1. Launch Photoshop

2. Open the photo you want Photoshop to leave it alone

3. Press the combination Alt-F4 = don’t touch it <bg>

Well, I am guessing you try to complain about the Color-Space which you may want to Google for more detailed information.

edit >preferences> turn off color mgmt OR

OR when the dialog box comes up
say leave it as is (color profile)
do not assign a different one when saving

web images use sRGB you could set preferences to that space do your saving in Image Ready which only uses web color spaces

OR assign colors by number using #101010 etc to match your website colors

Step 1: In the Color Preferences dialog, tell Photoshop to discard any embedded profiles.

Step 2: When you save your file, do not save the file with an embedded profile.

That’s it; you’re done.

Would a web browser use an embedded profile?
I think it’s more of a colour space issue.

Some Web browsers do, some don’t.

Color space is irrelevant in this case if there is no profile. i suspect what may be happening is the original poster is opening files which contain a profile he does not know about, and Photoshop is set to convert from that profile to whatever his working space is, which is changing the color in his images.

A good rule to follow that I’ve picked up over the past several years: when tacit speaks, listen carefully.
