Not sure about CS
But if I could suggest the free app called Irfanview, that has any number of facilities for batch renaming a folder of images, or/and including on the image itself any details you may want to include! a copyright mark! for instance, I suggest you experiment with one image until you get the font, colour, placement etc., to your liking!!

In Photoshop CS under Window you will find the File Browser. If you select any or all of the images there, by clicking the right mouse button, you will see batch rename… and a dialog box will pop up.

From CS2 up, there is the Bridge application which makes even that easier.

Hope it helps,

don’t use the Windows explorer to rename your pictures
it will put parentheses and spaces making the names useless for uploading………………..
hmm I did this for a MM flash thing once

in CS I used the file browser>batch rename
in the dropdown put the number one or two digit choice others set on none voila

your suggestion works for one type of stamp but I was looking for different types of stamps
for each picture like 1,2,3 etc.
so are there any scripts to find of somebody who did it already for several pictures?

Yes – can be done – you need to practise with it a bit to get the co-ordinates right (where you want the details to go in the image – Top right – bottom left etc., are notated as co-ordinates)
And you need to use the code "$N" for it to annotate with the file name only.
Damned clever little programme for what it does!
Please come back to me via my email address if I can help further!
