I have a image which I cut out the face for privacy issues so please don’t pay attention to that part but I want to fix the corner on the top left that is missing, also clean it up. can anyone point me to a good how to ??
Look at the little bit of the background to the model’s right, and locate something very similar on her left. Use the Marquee Tool, or Lasso, and make a Selection of a larger area, that is as close, as you can judge. Ctrl-c (Copy), then Ctrl-v (Paste). This will bring in the copied segment of background and Paste it into a new Layer. You may have to Flip the new Layer, to get the tonality close. Position this new Layer, with the Move Tool, to occupy an area that is slightly larger than the missing background – remember, it needs to be larger than the missing section. Click on the Layer Mask icon at the bottom of the Layers Palette. Use a soft-edged paintbrush to paint in the Mask, until you have a good size, and blend. You can also use, say Gaussian Blur, on the Mask to soften it. Last, with the new Layer (not its Mask) active, use Levels or Curves, to get an even better match.
Note: don’t worry if your painting of the Mask is not right. Just hit X and then paint OUT the Mask, as you need.
