Working with Photoshop CS; sometimes (mostley working with automate), the next message pops-up: "the commend "Feather" is not currentley available"; what does it mean and what do against it???

For feather to be available there has to be a selection active. I’m guessing an action is asking for a feather but there is no selection to feather.
