Adobe are set to release a free-to-use online version of Photoshop. http://www.creativepro.com/story/feature/25251.html?cprose=8 -10

Anyone else heard about this?
Any thoughts, comments or concerns?

My first thought is that it would be useless for large files as there would be a serious lag every time you did something to an image, rendering some tools useless.

MacBook Pro 16” Mockups 🔥

– in 4 materials (clay versions included)

– 12 scenes

– 48 MacBook Pro 16″ mockups

– 6000 x 4500 px

no I haven’t heard about it but if it was it would probably be a special online version.

Yes, I read about it a week ago. It seems that the online version will not have all the tools and functions that the boxed version has. I guess we’ll have to wait and see what’s in the online version.

Would be cool when you want to knock something up quickly when you are at a friend’s house.

It won’t have everything that Photoshop now offers. It will be a lite lite version. I doubt it will even come close to Elements. Now over time it might, but for free Adobe would be stupid to basically give away the full version of Photoshop or Photoshop Elements so I wouldn’t count on that.

Seems like it might be a way to show off new features, if as it sounds, it would only really work on tiny web sized images it might have the full feature set or nearly.

The free version isn’t something that they will be giving away, it’s a web based program. You have to use the software online, not download it to a computer and then use it.
