In Windows XP and 2000, the preferences file is in the Documents and Settings/[user profile]/Application Data/Adobe/Photoshop/[version]/Adobe Photoshop [version] Settings folder.

Any idea, how I can change the location, eg. to another drive? Any help highly appreciated.

Thank you
Uli

Really Dave? Couldn’t change the references in the registry? I’m not challenging, just curious.

as far as we’ve been told by chris (feature request forum was the latest i believe), no. MAYbe it could be tweaked in the registry, but I’m not sure. Maybe the special folders location (application data) could be modified with something like tweakui, but that would change everything.

<nodding> Yeah, you’d have to REALLY want it in order to test. But if Chris said "no", then that’s the deal.

Chris Cox "Allow customizable CS FileBrowser thumbnail directory" 6/1/04 8:10pm </cgi-bin/webx?14/0>

it’s re browser cache, but since it’s in the same area of the directory strucure…

You can move it — but only by moving the rest of the user’s profile and preferences.

Thanks alot to both of you. The link to Chris’ message was very helpful – even if I have to experiment a little on that issue.
