Can PS overlay two photos of same image?

I can’t think of a really good way to do that, but…

You can copy/paste one image onto the other, thus forming two layers and try blend modes, but you may have to "pretreat" each image so that when you apply a blend mode they look right.

It seems to me that it is a bit of a barbaric way to do it if you choose not to do the most obvious way: select the window in one image and copy/paste it onto the other, but that’s messy too.

That’s my two cents anyhooo.

This is what electronic flash was created for….

But if you have two images, one exposed for the exterior and one for the interior, why not just cut ‘n paste the correctly exposed window into the interior?

Yes, you can do what you are describing. You can even use three shots: normal, under, over.
