I would like to print window decals for the local youth sports programs. I do not know what equipment I need to start the process.

Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

print at a local KINKO’s or online source
ask them what size, format and resolution to prepare the artwork for print before you begin
they will often have templates
prepare the design in any art program (Photoshop, Gimp, Illustrator) IMO the ink jet printer quality you can do at home on t-shirts, film and decals is unacceptable
they have the better quality and larger printers and proper substrates (paper, canvas, clear film, plastic, large sizes)

I kinda disagree – the InkJet Vinyl Window media works fine for small volume stuff, and is probably worth a try if you like to do this kind of thing yourself. Available at the usual outlets (Office Depot, Staples, etc). Just be sure to adjust your printer driver for heavier ink output. The vinyl bumper-sticker media also works pretty well – just don’t expect it to last a long time out in the Florida sunshine.

Also be aware that if you want white areas on your window stickers, you’re gonna need to apply a backing to the film. The best thing for this is white Fablon (the rolls of white sticky backed plastic that you get in hardware stores).
