I’m not getting the same color print as the monitor shows. The manual talked about adobe gamma adjust and their knowledge base says its downloaded with the photoshop software and where it should be. I can’t find it and in discussions with photoshop support, they couldn’t find it and said that its not in photoshop CS. Can anyone confirm or deny this info?

Adobe Gamma is installed with Photoshop CS on Windows.

It is not installed on Macintosh (because the OS already provides a calibrator)

Art,

If you’re using WinXP you have to set the Control Panel to ‘Classic View’ in order to see Adobe Gamma. If it’s set to ‘Category View’, which is the default setting, you can’t see it.

Good tutorial on the setup of Adobe Gamma at <http://www.computer-darkroom.com/ps7-colour/ps7_2.htm> . Upgrading to Windows 2000 will get rid of those pesky XP problems, Thomas <G> .

I use Windows XP Pro and have the control panel set to Classic, but do not see any reference to Adobe Gamma.

What should I look for?
Is it possible it didn’t install if I can’t find it?

nope. installed by default. search your hard drive for *.cpl

is your windows desktop in classic mode or just control panel? change the desktop. are you running anything like "windows blinds"? that’s been known to cause problems.

Strange. It should look like this:

I have never experienced that Adobe Gamma fails to install, but maybe it can happen. The *.cpl file that controls Adobe Gamma is normally placed in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Calibration. The name is Adobe Gamma.cpl. What happens if you right click on that file and chooses ‘Open with Control Panel’?
