Does it really matter what kind of CDs I use to store photos, graphics, etc? Is one better than the other? What is the best? Thank you.

The outer build of a CDR is important. Some cheaper oens without protective layers can flake over time or flake when they are knocked.

Data storage layer; Cant say, time so far has not shown any deteriosation. But id expect the better ones stand up to light/weather/temprature better.
