Like most things in computing there are several ways one can achieve the same results. I have chosen to look into Photoshop Scripting.
I have written a script to resize images but you need Photoshop 7.0 and you need to download a free update from the Adobe web site. I have also written a VB program that in turn writes a JavaScript to resize images to your chosen size, Pixels or CM’s. You just set the size of the longest side and the other side is calculated. You can mix landscape and portrait images in the same folder. The resized images are save in a sub folder and renamed *******_small.jpg
I am now working on a VB program which interacts directly with Photoshop 7.0 (+ the update as above). This doesn’t need a script.
If you have a look at the web site of our camera club you can download either the script or the VB Program. (It is an EXE but it has been tested with up to date Norton AV)
If you connect to www.pyle-porthcawl-ps.co.uk > Digital Section > Photoshop Tutorials > Item 19 Scripting in Photoshop 7.0
You will see the links to the Adobe web site for the download, one for PC the other for the Mac. Then there is the link to the JavaScript "MyScript" with instructions of how to install it. I don’t know if the script will work on a Mac.
Near the bottom of the page you will see the link which says "Photoshop Scriptwriter". This is my VB program called "Photoshop Script" which will write a JavaScript with settings you choose.
In the development stage is the VB program which works without writing a script but still uses Photoshop 7.0 + the update. The VB programs wont work on a Mac, at least I don’t think they will but I haven’t got a Mac so I cant test them.
If you use any of the above all I ask is that you send me an email telling me if it met your requirements and perhaps suggest any improvements and programs to do other things, perhaps change multiple JPG’s to TIF’s.
If your interested in the second VB program send me your email address and I will notify you when its uploaded.
Please remove NOSPAM to reply by email.

Is there a way to take a group of images and set all of their width dimensions to say 400? When I pull digital images from a camera they come in at 1600 width, if there was a way to select them all and shrink them all at the same time to a width of 400 for example that would save me a lot of time. Let me know if there is a way to do this in Photoshop or some other method.
Thanks
