cannot open my v.7 program….a window pops up for Photshop.exe and states, in so amny words "Unable to locate component. KPT3HUB.DLL not found. application has failed. Re-installing Photopshop may fix the problem"

I would rather not re-install if I do not have to because an initial Google search for ‘KPT3HUB.DLL’ came up with this problem and re-installing did not work and there was no further solution offered.

FYI, if this relates to the KPT3 plug-in I do not have it installed on my system

thank you very much for any help on this!

sorry! – I DO have KPT3,5,6,Equalizer,Scene Builder folders in my Plug-Ins folder – I just never used them so I forgot I had them since they were installed a while ago – why do I now have a problem not being able to open PS?

Just a guess…

Photoshop is looking for it because it can function as a plug-in for photoshop. Try reinstalling it. If that doesn’t help, try resetting your preferences per the procedure in the faq.

Make sure you update to 7.0.1.

The x.0.1 update addressed a problem with KPT3, among other things.

thank you yrbkmgr

thank you too phoshor – actually, my version is technically 7.0.1 – I might try deleting all my KPT folders instead of re-installing PS

Reinstalling PS is relatively benign. It doesn’t reset preferences. And I meant, reinstalling KPT…

oh! … thanks for the clarification yrbkmgr – I thought I’d have to save all my individual files I have built up over time, like swatches, brushes…as long as they show up again I’ll give it a try if re-installing KPT does not do it.

reinstalling kpt 5 (included 3 in the custom setup) will fix it.

Was there ever a KPT 4? I too have 3, 5 and 6 and was just curious.
Aug 20, 2004
Nope. Never was a version 4.

"Nope. Never was a version 4."

Thanks, Phosphor. Now I know I’m not missing a toy.:)

Yes, Jake, but you missed out on ImageReady versions 4 through 6, I’ll bet?
