When working with a .jpg file in CS2, I might need to make a copy to rotate and copy back to the original in order to achieve perfect symmetry.

Must have clicked on something wrong somewhere because whatever I do to the copy file (picture.jpg and picture copy.jpg) is echoed on the original. In other words, one command affects both files simultaneously.

I’ve tried saving the copy file under a different name – no luck, tried closing the original file only to open it and find that every change I made to the copy file has been echoed on the original.

How do I stop this from happening?

CD/DVD is so cheap these days, how about making a backup of the original before accident may happen?

Me, I like and keep both original and retouched.
