Sorry. You were talking about the £ sign and not the € sign. My bad. Have you tried Alt + 0163 then?

Have you checked different fonts? Some fonts might not have that character.

Also, can you try the Character Map under Accessories? Assuming Windows. If you’re on Mac look at Key Caps.
