Can CS2 work independantly from CS3 on the same XP machine?

I setup a test machine with a fresh copy of Windows XP and installed CS2 and did all the updates. It was working fine. Then I installed CS3 and it went well, too.

BUT!

The problem is when I open CS2’s Bridge and launch a file, CS3 opens instead of CS2.

Has anyone found a way to keep CS2 and it’s Bridge separate from CS3 (and it’s Bridge, etc)?

Thank you!

Why would you want to go back to PS CS2. All the bits are there what in CS2 but they now work better. All my plugins even though I had reinstalled/drag around them still work.

CS2 is still up on the computer somewhere but I have not accessed them since installing CS3.

Bridge allows you to access other parts of CS2 like Illustrator, and I would suspect when I eventually update that it will only show Il CS3 in the Open with Menu.

I certainly not looking back.

In CS2 Bridge (and I presume similarly in CS3 Bridge) go to ‘Edit/Preferences/File Type Associations’.
Select the filetypes you want to open in CS2 Bridge and re-associate then accordingly, by way of the dropdown.

Fantastic. Even image processor stays in CS2. IIRC, trying this with the CS3 beta by changing the file extensions did not make a diff.

Thanks
