Hi. I am an amature at this. I have been using the clone stamp to touch up a picture. The problem is the clone stamp is Orange and is hardly recognisable with some images. Is there a way to change the colour of the clone stamp please?

The Clone stamp is just exactly that.

The first thing you do when activating the clone is to define where you want it to pick up from. You do that by placing the cursor and Alt + click.

Then move the cursor to where you want it to set down and click.

The angle and distance between the 2 points will remain constant, so as you move the set down point the pick up point will also move, if its options are set to "Aligned".

If you are not watching carefully, the pick up point can move onto a different coloured area, and will need to be reset.

No.

It’s an XOR function.
If you’re trying to locate a position to start, then hold the "ALT" key until you find it, release the key and then click the mouse to clone.

Not enough information. What kind of computer are you using?

If you are using a Mac, the answer is yes; make sure that the "direct cursors" extension is installed in the Photoshop plugins folder. If you are using Windows, the answer is no.
