Hi all- I’m new to Photoshop, just started last night with CS. I have a Windows 2K system with 256mb ram and about 2gb hard disk space free. I was making a relatively simple file with a couple of layers and when I tried to save it, I got "Cannot complete requested action because of program error" (not the precise error text, but that’s the gist of it). No matter what I did–save, save as, even tried saving as a JPEG–I could not save the file. I exited PS and tried a new file and it saved ok. Then I determined this problem starts happening after I use a filter (I used a couple different filters and they all seem to cause this problem). Once it happens, the only recourse is to lose any work, exit PS and restart. If I don’t exit, and just create a new file, the error persists, even if I try to save the new file without making any changes to it!
It would appear that something in PS is getting corrupted after using the filters.
I searched the forums and knowledge base but could not find this same problem, so I’m hoping it’s something that I can fix. I’ve also got ZoneAlarm and EZ Trust Antivirus running but I have not yet tried disabling them. I’ve performed the latest Windows Updates about a week or two ago.
Thanks in advance for any help/advice anyone can offer. I’d really like to get started using PS but not if I can’t save my work!
