does version 7 have a styles palette??
if so make the shape (shape tool>on pixels not path>add style) If you are not good at PS there are tons of free button sets out there try Adobe Studio Exchange
you can edit the colors by using selective color or hue /sat sliders

Thanks for this. The problem here is though the use of the word FREE. You can download free images and gifs, but they are not free for you to publish them on your website. This happened to a company I used to work for. They got sued a lot for it. so I wanted to create my own.

Usually you can use them – in most cases the author wants credit, that’s all. Read the terms of the license.

You have the choice of using "free" stuff or perhaps investing in a book or two or some on line tutorials.

I would perhaps suggest you look at some of the free tutorials and use them to learn how to do what you want to do. You will get nothing for a nothing investment. It will take some effort!

Sorry, I didn’t know you wanted a customized button. I thought you just wanted a button in general.

You could have an image be a hyper link, though.

there is also probably a way to animate it (when someone clicks on it, for example) using html or Java.
