Dear readers,

I have a problem printing text in photoshop. Some characters disappear or are printed in a different color. When I change the font, other characters will not be printed. On screen, everything is o.k.
I tried the HP4550C and PDF writer: both have the same problem. I tried Photoshop 6 and CS: same again.

The problem is ‘stabile’: when I print the document more than once, the missing characters (sentences, words, or just some characters in the middle of a sentence) will be the same every time.
Flattening the image or rasterizing the font-layer works, but then the characters will not be as sharp as they could be, especially when working in low-res.
Adobe help desk did not recognize my (business-) serial: they don’t support version 6 any more (so I was told). And CS is a trial version… So…

Anyone?

sounds like you need the Postscript version of the fonts installed on your printer.

thanks… i am trying to figure out if the fonts i use are installed on the printer… don’t know, really. But there should be no problem with PDF writer, right?
Funny thing is i tried it with InDesign: same pictures, same text, same fonts: no problem! With Word too.
So it is a specific Photoshop problem.

keep experimenting… what about this one: have a text, no effects: part of a sentence is missing. I cut the text into pieces and placed it in different layers: same result.
When i make the text bold, the print is all right!
