Hello, All!

I have bridge ACR preferences to use ACR for JPEG files. I find it to be incosistent and was wondering if others had the same problem.

1. Some jpeg files open fine in ACR; others do not.

2. Also, if I select 2 or more jpeg files and then Cntrl-R to open in ACR, they will not load whereas the same operation always works with RAW (ORF in my case) files.

I thought I had read that Cntrl-R would open all selected files in ACR as it does for RAW. Is this not correct?

Any ideas on why the inconsistency when opening a single jpeg file?

Thanks,
Colonel Blip.

I have the exact same issue.
Adobe denies the problem exists.
I presume you have set the preferences dialog so that, theoretically, double clicking on a jpeg/tiff in Bridge will open it in the raw converter. Alas no matter what you do, including deleting/resetting the preferences as described by Adobe, or even deactivating/uninstalling/reinstalling CS3 will resolve this particular bug.
The only way to consistently open jpegs and tiffs from Bridge in the raw converter is to right click on the image preview and select the open with raw converter option.
It becomes a habit.

Other than gowanoh I gather no one here has this problem nor has a solution.

I tried NAPP help – they weren’t able to. I’ve contacted Adobe w/o any response. Looks like we are stuck with this problem.

Thanks,

Colonel Blip.

If I’m not to late to add.

What I have found is that some of my scanned images saved as either Tiff or Jpeg, will not open in 4.1.

But if I open them up in PS and resave them they will then open in ACR.

Might be the way they were saved originally.
