Thanks for the help on the color cast. It is working pretty well.

Another question I have in regards to the history. I noticed that once I close out a graphic the next time I open it the history of what I did is gone. Other than writting it down is there a way to have the history saved with the graphic

Sometimes I am working on a graphic and then have to close it and when I go back later I can’t always remember all the things I did to it.

Thanks

Hi Dig; Instead of writing it down … do a screen shot. Just click on Print Screen on your keyboard. Then click File > New & ok. Then click Edit > Paste and what you had on your screen will show. Flatten it & crop it to save with your image. Make sure your history palette is in the center of your screen when you do the screen shot. Sincerely;

I don’t think so.. but you can expand it if it is not too long, print screen, and save it as a gif.

It just occurred to me that the canvas size could be increased by something more than the width of the cropped and copied history shot and the shot pasted in the blank area. This way they are always together and the original image can be cropped out and saved at any time.

Isnt it possible to take a "snapshot" of the image ..? I was under the impression that "snapshots" saved the history up2 that point. Whereas a save doesnt …. :-/

History states and snapshots live only in RAM. If you want to permanently save a "snapshot" (ie, a work-in-progress), do a save-as.

I do not see what a picture of the desktop containing the history palette will do for you. If you really want to know what you did then create a new action and record everything you do. Then before closing the document, stop the recording of the action. Then you can save all the steps in the action set to a text file by doing the following:

1. While holding down the Alt and Control keys, chose Save Actions from the Actions palette’s pop-down menu.
2. The extension in the Save dialog box should be txt.
3. Select a folder and filename to save the Action to.
4. Click save.

You now have a text file of everything you did in that session. Develope a naming covention to record each time you work on the graphic and save the files to the folder where the project is stored and you will have quit a bit of documentation.

NOTE: Because these are text files, they should not be very large (on disk). However, they can be very verbose. For example, the recording of the creation of a text layer creates app 90 individulal line items. You just didn’t know it took so much to enter text.

Hope this helps
