I thought that if I would remove path from text attached to path then text will be released. But I cannot to do it at all. I even cannot remove all anchor points from the path.

Does abyone know is there a way to do it?

Would it be ok to just select the text with the text tool, cut and paste it on a new layer?

Interesting problem though. I would have thougth that once you remove the path, that the text would straighten out. I don’t have CS so I can’t even "play".

I’ve only just played with it a bit, but you can’t delete the path, as far as I can tell.

Ah, so the path becomes integral. I just re-read the OP and it is now cleart that OP is saying that he/she cannot remove the path.

Kinda odd though, that they would do that. <shrug>.

Put your text on a path.

With the text layer selected, click Selection -> Load Selection

Click Edit -> Copy

You now have your text without the path which you can paste into another file.

Yes, it’s workaround. I can copy > paste the selected text into new layer text and then duplicate path for reuse.

Thanks.
