I can access the Camera Raw Window (two White Balance controls, exposure, shadow, brightness, contrast, and saturation)only when I am using Image Ready. In Photoshop, I only get a window with two controls: Exposure Compensation, and White Balance. When I first installed CS I think I could Camera Raw Window in Photoshop. I re-installed CS and still have the same problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What RAW file are you trying to read? I get the same result in CS with Nikon NEF but I can’t open an NEF file at all in ImageReady. I get the error message "Unable to use the Camera Raw plug-in. It is not compatible with this host."

Can anyone help with this?

Juan,

Do you have any Nikon plugin installed? If so remove it then check again.

Rob and Doctor Doctor, thanks for your valued help. It worked. I’m writing you through this forum because the Adobe forum shut me out because I took too long to answer you. Because I installed the Abobe plugin 2.2 and it gave me the following error:"Unable to use the Camera Raw Plugin. It is not compatible with this host." Probably it does not like Windows 2000. However, Adobe Plugin 2.1 works fine.

Thanks again,

Juan

Nikon PictureProject causes this. Go to Plug-ins/Adobe Photoshop only/File Formats and remove the Nikon NEF Plugin LE file. Restart Photoshop and Camera Raw should work as it should.

Yep, check some other sub folders as well: some versions of Nikon solftware put two plug-ins, following what Thomas Knoll said at the ACR forum.
