Hello,

I was wondering if somebody could help me with my problem. I did a photoshoot this weekend, but it was very hot, and you can see the shine in the model’s face. Has anybody seen a good tutorial on airbrushing faces, or removing imperfections (shine, pimples)

Thanks in advance

I routinely use a combination of the healing brush, patch tool, and clone tool. They’re perfectly suited for such a task. If you want a tutorial on it, you might try searching google for a healing brush tutorial…

Alain,

When the defects are widespread rather than localized, here is a method that is becoming quite popular:

Create a duplicate layer, blur the layer until all imperfections in the face are satisfactorily smeared out and paying no heed to lost detail elsewhere as eyes, lips, etc, add a layer mask, and fill the mask with black to cancel its entire effect. Then paint on the mask with a soft white brush at some opacity less than 100% to restore in whole or in part those portions of the blurred layer that are needed to smooth out facial blotches and defects.

Or work the other way around, best by first selecting the face, blurring the selection, adding the mask, filling the mask with white to retain all of the blurring, and then brush painting with black to restore portions of the underlying unblurred image such as eyes, lips, etc.
