Try trashing prefs, as per the FAQ.
Bob
No luck! It still doesn’t load.
Try uninstalling and reinstalling.

That was the first thing I tried. Keep ’em coming. I appreciate the advice.
My problem is similar but not so severe. After upgrading to Win XP Pro, service pack 2, I find that Photoshop 7 frequently freezes (mouse freezes). Any ideas would be appreciated.
Would upgrade to Photoshop CS help?
Also, what was meant by this:"Try trashing prefs, as per the FAQ?"
The FAQs are on the top of the forum page.

"Trashing prefs" is Forumspeak for deleting your Photoshop preferences. It’s not very pretty English and unintelligible for a lot of people who don’t have American as a first language.
For some reasons, Photoshop can sometimes display unpredictable behaviour (it is a very complex and powerful program) and the only solution in many cases is to delete some or all of these Preference files and let Photoshop build them again with a restart. They are not deleted with a reinstall since they don’t exist until PS is opened (so are not recorded in the installation log). It always makes me a little sad that well-intentioned users go through the whole reinstall bit, only to find the problem has not gone away.
So, all together now: "Trash your prefs"!
Happy days – JJ 🙂
In my case, trashing prefs doesn’t solve the problem. Any other ideas?
