Just downloading the demo of auto fx’s auto eye. Anyone used it? Is it any good? Is there anything out there that is comparable or better? I’m mostly interested in its image enhancement functions – I assume it uses some sort of channel analysis to increase colour definition. I tend not to bother with chanel swapping – its too time consuming – i use high-pass layers, so I like the sound of something that would do this quick.

To be honest you won’t find an auto-image correction program or plug-in that is worth beans. The best these programs and plug-ins can do is guess at what is wrong and try to fix the image based on that guess. Sometimes this works, most times it doesn’t. You are better off saving your money and learning to use Photoshop and its image correction tools.

If your looking for a book, try Photoshop Artistry. It is an incredible book on image correction and enhancement using Photoshop.

Yeh, I thought it might have been an advanced program – with control over channels and individual chanell sharpening – that sort of thing. The demo sucks. To anyone else out there – Dont bother downloading it – it only lets you use images they provided (so an image with a range of colour and tonal values with a blue cast cleans up beautifully – an image that contains only blues with a green cast? forget it.
