Not sure what’s going on but a few days ago every graphic document I open in PS-CS defaults to displaying the grid map over the top of it. It’s becoming very annoying especially when I’m opening up 5-10 different photo files in prep for a montage project.

Try turning the grid off (have only one image open), and then exiting PS. Then open PS again. If that doesn’t work try deleting preferences.

For some reason, your system is retaining the memory of showing the grid.

I found the solution and feel a little stupid not seeing it before but here’s what to look for if anyone else runs into this problem. The "view/show" folder seems to be where the active preferences for grids and guides is so open "view", "show" and then click on "none".

Which is exactly what Ol’Whozit was referring to when she said "try turning off the grid…"

But her POINT was, that if you turn it off for one image, once you close photoshop with it off, it stays off. If it’s ON when you close PS, all subsequent images you open will have it on.

You’re shrugging a lot lately Tony.

I suppose we all get a bit that way sometimes. 🙂

The sun just came out and shone on my keyboard – I hadn’t realised how much gunge had accumulated. ;>

Yeah, if I’m not careful, my ear ring will snag my shirt from all the shrugging.

<smile> Better?
