Hi All

Can someone tell me, what is the best way to create a circular ripple effect as if dropping an object into a water surface in CS2. Thanks

Try dropping an object into a water surface.

Select the area you want to apply ripples to with the rectangular marqee tool, then apply either a Pinch or Spherize filter to it. Reduce the size of your marqee, and then apply the opposite filter. for example, if you applied spherize, apply the pinch this time, and vice-versa. Keep doing this, reducing the marquee size each time and when you’re finished, you should in theory have something resembling ripples on water surface.

I have to admit. I haven’t tried this so I can’t say for certain how realistic it will look, but the theory is sound, and it can’t hurt to give it a go.

Select the foreground and background colors. Fill the layer with gradient tool. Go to filter>distort>zig zag and choose pond ripples.
