I’m using ImageReady CS on Windows XP Home Edition with Service Pack 2.

I have this template I’m trying to use for my website, and I have it all sliced up in ImageReady. However, when I "Save optimized as…", the output HTML and images do not align properly in Internet Explorer ("IE"). It looks perfect on Mozilla based browsers, but in IE it just won’t work.

If anyone could help me out with this, I would really appreciate it!

Thanks,
~Nik

You’re going to have to give us some code (the html file that ImageReady generated) or a screenshot (of the way you are slicing the file up) or something…

As of right now, it could be any one of a million things.

I’ve posted a screen shot at <http://www.chaoshosting.org/images/screen.jpe>

I marked the areas that have problems with red dots.

Keep in mind the graphic distortion is due to my wide-screen monitor.

Thanks!

Well… I was hoping for some code, and I think I’m going to need it. I’m not exactly seeing what the problem is with just the screenshot.

Can you post the test page up so we can take a look at the source?

I agree, please post the HTML and images if possible.

Nikolae,

Did you modify any of the HTML or is it direct from Image Ready?

I had completely finished this site using Opera to display it, and it looks perfect. But then I used it in IE and it totally messed up. So I thought that maybe I had done something. However, after much debugging, I found nothing wrong and it still didn’t work. So I outputted it again directly from ImageReady and it still didn’t work.

This link is to the directly outputted HTML page and images. I have not touched them. <http://www.chaoshosting.org/test/index.html>

Thanks again!

Well, the page looks great in IE and FireFox for me… (IE6 on Windows XP)

You might try adding vspace="0" and hspace="0" to any images and seeing if that will help it out.

Have I mentioned how much I hate reading ImageReady code? Stupid colspans…

edit: Oh yeah, get rid of the entire last table row in your code. I don’t think it’s necessary in this case.

Nikolae,

Looks fine in IE6 on my systems as well. If you are using an older version you might try removing the carriage returns from the middle of the image tags. I remember there being something like that causing the same problem you are having.

If that still doesn’t work make try putting each full table row on it’s own line (<TR>…</TR>).

good luck.

"If that still doesn’t work make try putting each full table row on it’s own line (<TR>…</TR>)."

I can’t believe I missed that. In regards to that, I usually just ended up having to put the (<TD>…</TD>) on the same row, not the entire <TR>… Although the <TR>’s on the same line couldn’t hurt.

Looks great on my 4 year old Pismo Powerbook running Mac OS 9.2.2 and IE 5.17.

I did see the anomolies in the previous jpeg, though.

I don’t know a thing about html or web authoring so I couldn’t help you, but thought an extra witness would help.

Jonathan,

I agree, moving the TD’s to a single line should definitely fix it. I just looked at the source again and the computer I was using before displayed it incorrectly in notepad. The Image tag wasn’t split in the middle like I originally thought. I didn’t mention the TD tags because with the code I looked at removing the carriage returns there would have forced the TD tags to a single line anyway.

Thanks everyone! I suppose it’s probably just IE not handling my widescreen very well!

I’ll try your suggestions!

Thanks again!
