I am thinking about getting a Cibox C2201 22 inch wide screen monitor. Has anyone used this for photoshop and if so what do they think of it.

I would also be interested in opinions about any other 22 inch wide screen minitors for Photoshop. as well as general computing.

Originaly I wanted the Samsung but that had a reputation of having a blue colour cast after Samsung changed panel makers. This was certainly the case with the one I saw being displayed in PC World.

John – Your last paragraph is off base. If the color cast is blue on the screen you saw, it was because the color temperature was set too high, probably about 9300K. Most recommendations for a neutral color are for about 5300K.

I have two Samsung 21.3 inch monitors, the 213T and its successor the 214T. They are excellent for PS and general computing. I usually use one for the palettes and the other for the image.

I should have been specific that the one I did not want was the wide screen 226BW. When this first came out it had the panel made by Samsung themselves I think. That had superb reviews. This was the so called S panel. Then they changed to a different supplier (A panels ) and they had a strong blue colour cast. That caused a great deal of fuss.

Now they have apparently changed again to what is called C panel. There is now no reference on the outside of the monitor. That is the one I looked at. It had a strong blue cast.

Apparently this can be corrected by the right profile but I assume that this would only improve the performance in programs like Photoshop that are colour aware but not in other general programs (office for example )

There is a huge amount of info about this on the web

I am glad you are happy with what you have. I will have a look at it but I really want the wide screen format.

I second the Samsung T models. I have had 172T, 204T and just recently got a 244T. All calibrate beautifully and are great fpr Photoshop.

Pay the bit extra for the T rather than the B model. Calibrating for PS doesn’t do any harm to anything else.
