I am self taught in the computer so this may be elementary knowledge. I have a number of files numbered from 001 to 010. I select them all to open and I want them to open in a cascade order starting with 001 in order through 010. They always open in reverse order 010 to 001. How can I open all so that they appear in order 001 through 010?

Hi JG,

What I see happening when I select several files using the Open File dialog, is that the files are opened in the order they are listed in the file name field. So, opening files 1-9 would have file 9 the last opened and thus the topmost image window. If that is the result you’re seeing but you’re wanting file 1 to be the topmost window, then you’d need to reverse the order of names in the file name field. The easiest way I know to achieve that is to select the Detailed View of a folder so that columns are provided for the file Name, Size, Date, etc., and then click on the Name column to sort by name in reverse order (click again for normal alphanumeric order). Then select your files and open them. That seems to work for me.

Hope that helps,

Daryl
