Has anyone had problems with the old "Extensis Photo Tools" working with the new version of Photoshop? I have Photoshop 7.01 and I found a
patch that would allow them to work with my current version but I’m not aware of a fix for CS3.
Extensis does not support the software anymore but I find the old customized tool bar a huge plus when streamlining redundant operations. I want to try Photoshop CS3 but will stick to my current version if there is a chance that I might loose them.

I believe that the person that did the patch said he couldn’t for CS2 because of changes Adobe made. So I would think that since those changes were undone in CS3 that the support for Photo Tools for Photoshop is over.

I still use PhotoTools with CS2. There was a bit of a problem (wish I could recall exactly what it was now), but it works fine with that iteration. Do not know about CS3. Might want to do a Google for Extensis and PhotoTools, as there were many threads, regarding getting it up and working in CS2.

I had the same problem. They worked with CS but not CS2 & CS3. I kept CS installed and installed CS3. I used them both for awhile but now, almost exclusively CS3. (I haven’t moved my silverfast software over to CS3, so I’m still scanning within CS.) It took me awhile to get over my addiction to Photobars, but CS3 is so nice with so many improvements that it’s okay now. If somebody programs Photobars for CS3, I’d jump on them in a nano second though. I don’t know why Photoshop doesn’t pick them up. There are a lot of graphic amateurs out there that are buying the program and the photobars would be really helpful for them and spur some new sales….the learning curve can be steep with this program and an aid like Photobars could help in mastering Photoshop for the graphically challenged. I guess they think that the Pro Users would sniff and sneer at them, but they are in the minority as far as sales go, especially for Windows.

Somebody could make a tidy sum programming a Photobars plugin, but nobody is interested at this time.

OnOne software now support all Extensis software. Provided you have a license, you can write to support and they’ll direct you to the patch which allows most of the tools to work under CS2/3.
