I can’t find a news group about adobe Photoshop. This is the reason why I post here. My original dick with adobe Photoshop 4 will not install on windows xp on my new computer. The disk is looking for a version of flash player ? and will not continue. For me Photoshop 4 need to be installed first and the updates versions like 5 -5.5 -6. Is there a news group for adobe Photoshop users ?.

When I install, all I have to do for an upgrade is show it a previous CD during the install.

Try installing PS6 directly, and then load the PS5 or PS5.5 CD when the installer asks for verification of ownership.

PS6 rules – I still make a point of keeping it on my system.

BTW – I be your last name raises some eyebrows when you call tech support. Any relation to Tom Knoll? At the very least you should get promoted to the front of the line.

Thank for the info. I wanted to install my first full version of adobe Photoshop but it will not load without the proper flash program.hence it is not possible to install the rest of the updates.

Just to actually answer your question, rather than tell you that you posted this in alt.graphics.photoshop, you just install the latest version you have, and during the

version first.

Just install Photoshop 6 directly, without installing the earlier versions first. If Photoshop needs to verify that you do have those earlier versions, it will ask for the original installer disk(s) if it can’t find those versions on your hard disk.

Well I did install adobe version 4 first and all the other update have to be installed in sequence or call in order. The bad thing about it is my new computer will not install the firs on. and this is adobe Photoshop 4 the other versions need to know this for verifications.

I don’t want to sound stupid by asking the obvious, but do you have the original serial number? If you do, you can install the newest version of the software you’re willing to pay for. As far as legitimate past upgrades, they have record of every single one on the machines on their desks.

Customer service — actually a specialized department within customer service called "Activation" can turn your stuff on and off as if by magic. And like the vast majority of people at Adobe, they’re very nice and friendly and cool and helpful.

It’s the engineers you gotta watch out for. They’re not reading this though, so there’s no chance on earth I’ll ever get in trouble for opening my big mouth. And I not only believe in the tooth fairy — I am the damn tooth fairy :-))))))))))

Bought the first full version adobe Photoshop 4 and thereafter the upgrades 5 5.5 and 6. then Photoshop CS. Worked fine on my old computer and Windows XP. My new computer uses also windows XP but it will not accept and install the first original disc. Certainly the updates will also not install the updates because they can not verify a previous installation. Dig get adobe CS installed but it will not recognise raw images.
