Did anyone ever get an authoritative answer as to why Save For Web was so slow to "undraw" after saving a file?

To recap the problem from my experience, all is well until you save a graphic with the Save For Web command. When the graphic is saved and the system begins to remove the window, suddenly it goes terribly slow. So slow that you can literally see each window element disappear. At the very end of this "undraw", it will actually slow enough to make other system processes drag (it makes my audio halt for a moment).

I didn’t experience this problem at all with 5.x. When I moved up to
6.x, I initially had no problems–the plugin loaded and unloaded as
fast as any other PS plugin. It seems that it began happening about the same time I installed the 6.01 updater, but I can’t find any evidence to confirm that the updater was the problem.

There are no other problems whatsoever noticed in Photoshop–graphic quality is as expected, there are no crashes, the files created with Save For Web work just fine.

Tried all the standard tricks–delete preferences, check system specs, defrag and scandisk, remove psicon.dll and extensions like Fastcore.8BX and MMXCore.8BX, reinstall both PS and Windows. There’s obviously a problem, but I never did hear of a solution.

It’s annoying, but doesn’t critically affect what I do. I’d just like to know to satisfy my curiosity, and to give me a better idea of whether the hassle of an upgrade is worthwhile.
