I have two graphics cards,
1) GeForce 2 MX 6800
2) GeForce 6200E Turbo Cache
Can I install both into the same PC.
I want to use two monitors with PS3.
I am told that I might have to have additional
software to do this.

I am *not* a computer buff and my knowledge
on such matters is very limited.

Thanks.

Tom.

Why use a dual monitor when the new affordable wide screen monitors are available?

What’s wrong with dual wide screen monitors?

In Vista, you can CTR-ALT-Delete to Task Manager, go to Processes, right-click Phtotshop.exe and go down to "set affinity".

I use CS3 Extended on a dual-core AMD 64 (32 bit OS), and it uses cpu 1 and cpu 2. That’s without Bridge open…

Also, Vista will never report 4GB RAM. It will report, (by default),
3.1GB. My box reports 3.5. Windows uses the balance for mapping
purposes so it’s never going to report the full 4GB unless you run a 64 bit OS.

I’m sorry if this is OT as your question concerns a Mac OS, but I thought it may help the Winblows users out there, as well.

If I knew Vista was going to suck so much for the first few months, (even now-I’m just trying to be happy with what I’ve got and the fixes that HAVE been made to Vista…), I woulda bought a G5 in a heartbeat. In fact, I’m still considering it.

Hi!

I don’t know if someone already asked that question
or noticed this behaviour of PS CS3, but: on
my Intel Mac (Core Duo 2Ghz) Photoshop always
only uses one processor core, sometimes not even
100%. In the Prefs is no reference to CPU usage,
therefore I don’t know if this willingly of Adobe
or a problem of my machine. Does anybody have
an idea?
Thanks!

You could even have quad, if you wanted it bad enough..

I have plenty of experience and I found it quite complicated. Start with this: Do you have the proper slots for the two graphics cards?

Contrary to the smart-alec replies you got, two monitors are wonderful with PS, and even better when you run two programs and want to enter info from one into the other.

Although I’m a Mac user, I couldn’t agree more! I have 3 monitors on my Mac Pro. Two 19" LCDs in portrait either end of a 30" Apple Cinema Display, and PhotoShop is just bliss on that setup.

This machine has a ATI X1950 running one 19" and the 30", and an nVidia 7900 running the remaining 19". Runs perfectly.

You can never have enough desktop space. I tend to run PhotoShop or Illustrator on the 30" widescreen, reference work on one of the 19", and mail / chat windows or video preview on the remaining screen. Even with all those screens, I still use Spaces in Leopard to give me dedicated workspaces for FinalCut, Flash, Illy and PS.

Windows XP and Vista both support multiple monitors too. My old PC had twin ATI cards in it (can’t remember the models?) and it ran dual screens okay with the standard drivers from ATI (I think!).

sorry I can’t answer your question
but I will say that most motherboards have a built in vid card so if you do use any other card(s) make sure to disable the on board video card in the BIOS settings
