I’m trying to black out a background or even a copy of the background and I’m having no luck. I’ve done it before but cannot seem to repeat my steps. I’m using PS 7. I should be able to select my layer and go to image – adjust – levels and set the upper output level from 255 to 0 and therefore blackout everything but other layers. Any thoughts on why I can’t do this anymore?

Why not just create an empty layer and fill it with black?

What you did works for me, adjusting the output
levels. Was the levels set to somthing other than
normal setting? When you figure it out, I’d like to
know.. : -)
