When I installed PS 7.0, I selected it to come up when I double-click a JPEG file. I preferred the MS program that came up by default before I made the install.

I am running Windows XP

Thanks for the help.

There are four ways to accomplish this task

1. Right click on a jpg file, then click on "Open with", then select whatever program you wish. Then enable the use of the program with all files of that type.

2. Open the tools button in Windows Explorer. Go through the same thing.

3. Open the Folder Options button in the Control Panel. Access the file types dialog and scroll down until you get to jpg. Then select your program

The above three ways are described in the Windows help facility, and you should get the precise instructions there.

4. Use the registry change which is described in the Windows 98 Resource Kit.

FYI, this method does not allow you to change the icon. What you are really doing is changing part of the registry entry for this data type. Jim

Thanks again, Jim.

I did a system restore back to before I installed PS to fix that part. I was also finding the icons being much slower in regenerating even after making the change so i did the restore.

Thanks again
