I have recently upgraded to Photoshop CS and when I open an image it tell me ”the document has an embedded colour profile that does not match the current RGB working space. The documents profile will be converted to the working space. Embedded: SRGB Working: RGB(1998)”.
The colours in my image then appear very dull. I do not know which profile to assign from the choice of three:
1.Don’t color manage this document
2.Working RGB
3.Profile (and it gives me a choice)
If you know which profile I should select to get the colors correct PLEASE HELP and answer me as I’M DESPERATE!

Thanks in advance

Doesn’t the manual discuss these issues in great detail?

I can’t help because:

1. I don’t know the source of the document.
2. I don’t know the conditions under which the document was generated.
3. I don’t know what your working space profile is.
4. I don’t know where you intend to send the document when you get through with it.

A good book for color management would be "Real World Color Management". Bruce Fraser is one of the authors.
