I don’t know what I did but am at a loss.

Photoshop 7 on Win 200o SP4 machine:

On Image>Adjustments>Hue/Saturation my usual control window has disappeared and am left with an eyedropper tool. No control over anything, and I can’t find a way to release it.

Please help!

TIA

Try dumping your prefs— ALT+CTRL+SHFT during launch of Photoshop. Click OK when prompted. This will restore your Prefs to the default setting and may fix your problem.

Glad it worked!

Dumping the Prefs is in fact the preferred method to restore the default settings should something become quirky. One thing you may want to do is set your preferences to the way you like–your scratch disk settings, memory allocation, history states, plug-in directories, etc. Then copy the Prefs file in Explore in your Adobe folder under Application Data and paste them into another place on your hard drive. Then the next time this happens, just copy and paste it back. That way, you will always have an uncorrupted Prefs file at your disposal!

The file is called Adobe Photoshop [version] Prefs.psp

This is a good lesson – written down in my ‘quirks’ file.

Thanks for your help, and for contributing to this group.
