crop tool question

When I attempt to crop (no dimensions specified), I find that I can’t set the crop marks very close to the edge of the image. If I try, the crop line will jump to the edge. When I attempt to move it away from the edge, it jumps
beyond the point I wish. Not good. I bought a new nuclear powered mouse, but it made no difference. The only other PhotoShop user I know here has the same problem.

I’m working with fairly large files, with lots of power and ram in my computer.

What’s going on here?

Thanks,

To stop the crop tool snapping to the edges hold down the Ctrl key before dragging out the crop shape.

I think what you need to do is click on View and then remove the tick from alongside Snap – if not maybe a clever person will be along shortly 🙂 Hope that helps

Both answers work. Turning off "snap" works, or using the control key disables "snap."

Thanks!
