I am unable to produce a bevel that’s opaque in spite of every transparency setting I can find being set to 100%. Mode is VGA 16 bits per channel. I’ve tried many combinations of settings in Layers Styles. This freshman PS user could use some guidance.

Hey David,

I know you already checked the blending options and opacity. Did you check these things for the adjacent layers?

Also, are you by chance using a layer mask anywhere? If you drag the beveled layer to the top of the layers palette, does it still show transparency? I’m trying to confirm that another layer isn’t to blame.

The image is a photograph. Nothing done to background. I duplicated the background, then hid the background, leaving only the copy layer visible. Nothing has been done to this, the sole visible layer, other than create the bevel.

Thank you for sticking with this. I wonder if it possible to create an opaque bevel in PS8.
