When I make a selection and then create a layer out of it, the new layer is not positioned precisely over the layer(s) beneath it. If I toggle the layer on and off, it very clearly moves slightly. What is going on?

For example, I select the head of my subject with a subtle feather, then hit Ctrl+J to create its own layer. When I toggle it, it is not sitting directly on top of the head beneath it. Is the "slack" created by the feathering causing this?

Thank you,

jake

Hey Jake!

I’ve had that problem but found out it was really an illusion caused by the image not being displayed in actual pixel size. Try double-clicking the Zoom Tool to display in full size and then turn the layer on and off. See if it still does it.

Peadge 🙂
