Sometimes when I crop in Photoshop the cropping tool accidently strays outside of the picture area. Is there any setting in Photoshop CS that will force cropping to be limited to within the borders of the original image?

Doesn’t the crop tool restrict itself the area on the
first pass?

You can either set the values in the options bar at the top, or bypass the crop tool entirely by using the Rectangular Marquee Tool. You can even drag out guides to whre you’d like to crop, enable Snap (View > Snap) and drag out a rectangle using the Marquee Tool. Then just go to Image > Crop.

Peadge 🙂
