Hi,
I would like to create an effect that would be similar to perhaps the old printing styles of Ilford Gallery or what was once a special black and white paper from kentmere where the black and white image – say a person – had a silvery effect finish when printed.
Not the best description of what I am trying to achieve but it is the best I can do.
Does anyone know how to create this effect in Photoshop 8. Thanks for any help
Eddie

Have a (conventional) lab print your pictures on Kodak Endura Metallic Silver paper, or Luminous Metallic Silver RC b/w paper

http://wwwuk.kodak.com/global/en/professional/products/paper s/enduraMetalli c/main.jhtml?id=0.1.16.14.30.28&lc=en

This will require a lab that has a high-end printer … such as a cymbolic sciences … so it will probably *not* be your local mini-lab.

Hi, don’t know if this will help you ..but snip from another group (slr’s i beleive)

"Send the files to mpix.com who can use real silver-based B&W Kodak pro paper for their digital prints (the heavy stuff you can cut people with). They’ll look amazing, I promise… unless, it’s pictures of plane tails."

I never used them personally. Let us know if you do and how it turned out.

Look at www.silveroxide.com. They specialize in all sorts of black and white filters including silver oxide. I have never tried these filters but they advertise in the Photoshop User magazine each issue.

Hi Ladyofcats,
Thanks for the URL,I had a look – pretty mind boggling but I guess if I cant find something there I should stick to sepia or something.
