hey all,

I am trying to clean things up on my puter here at home. While using the browser feature in PS7 i notice that some files are locked…and i am unable to delete them. when i open them i see that they are flattened onto the background etc.

Is there and easy way to simply unlock them all…do i have to write an action or droplet or what? if i go in and change the backround to layer 0 i STILL wont let me delete 🙁

It would be nice if i could delete using the browser as i can easily see what i want to delete.

this is a little bug that has bothering me for awhile…there must be a simple way

thanks

yeah…i figured out that they were read only…and ended up using explorer to either move or delete the files. Im using w2k…and at least you get a preview there. Not really a big deal…just one of those things that bugged me. Oh..they werent coppied from cd tho. Some were scans of mine…some were dowloaded pics from the net. Im just puzzeled as how the got to be read only.

oh well.

thanks for the help ludwig

They may locked at the OS level. Files copied from a CD are automatically flagged as readonly by all Windows versions prior to XP.

Did you bring those files onto your machine from a CD? That’s what usually happens. Its a real pain when you install a some Plug-ins from a CD and
the
won’t work, because they’re still ‘Read-Only’. Right click on the file and click ‘Properties’- then uncheck the Read-Only box.
