To batch rename files, the manual for PS7 calls for using a command in the File Browser’s palette menu. However, I don’t have any commands showing in the palette menu. Additionally, I don’t have the small arrow in the upper right corner, as stated by the manual (presumably it’s to expand the menu).

Any ideas how to enable this command? It would be very useful, to avoid the tedium of manually renaming multiple images.

Thanks very much to all those sharing their experience.

2 possibilities:

1) Have you applied the 7.0.1 update? If not, please do so.

2) The menu is only available if you have dragged the pallette onto the workspace – it is not there if you just expand from the pallette well.

Once again, a duplicate post and I get confused as I just gave a similar answer.

Wish Adobe would do something to stop the "refresh" bug. 🙁

A big thank you to Colin! Moving the File Browser from the palette well to the workspace solved the problem.

Colin, you should be writing the Photoshop manual!

or you could’ve just right clicked in the browser pane with the browser docked…

And I think Colin IS writing the Photoshop Manual!
