How come I cannot open my .psd files (ver. cs) in photoshop 6? I get an error about not enough ram, but my computer has 1gig of ram it makes no sense. Any help greatly appreciated! Thanks

Do you often try to open newer documents in older software? Do you usually have success in this?

In PS CS, save to ‘maximize compatibility’. Note that this option does not say ‘ensure compatibility’. If you have a stubborn save-down issue, rasterize some of the effects layers in CS before saving down for version 6.

As stated in the FAQ’s of this forum, Photoshop 6.0 has a bug that prevent it from opening CS files…

figured it out, i opened the CS files in ver.5.5 and just did a save as. Now they will open in ver.6.

Would be nice if Adobe made an update for Ver.6, makes no sense why 5.5, 5.0, 4 have no problems opening CS files but ver.6 HAS A BUG AND ADOBE’S ANSWER IS FOR YOU TO UPGRADE TO CS! Have we not spent enough money on their products already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
