Blue tinged photos

HI

My printer HP PhotoSmart 7550 prints blue tinged photos instead of black. They look correct on my monitor. How do i correct this in Photoshop 7.01?

What happens if you print a block or
black%, also Cyan 100%, Magenta and
yellow.

I would also print a gradient from 0 – 100% black.
Just my guess at where to start.

Are the pictures ones that have been scanned ?
If so, it sounds like an issue that I had.
I found that printing a "scanned photo" produced black with a blueish tint.
If these are not from a scanned source then check the colour by using the eye dropper to see if its R=0, G=0 & B=0.

Forget about doublechecking the colors, black = black. You need to get yourself a descent PRINTER PROFILE. Do some searches on that topic, there are canned profiles out there or you can make your own with a piece of software. I use ProfilePrism from ddisoftware which was the cheapest calibating option but there are others.
