Just upgraded to a new pc with xp was using windows 2000 professional. Used to be able to select meultiple files inside a folder on the desktop and right click select open and then all the selected files would open up in photoshop 6.0. Now in xp I select several files nia folder and select open butonly one file opens in photoshop. I can go back to the folder and select open and get multiple files to open in photoshop but I have to tediously open each one by it’self. I’ve tried everything and I can’t find the solution. Anyone have any info can straighten me out on this, THANKS!!

It is all in how the shortcut is "written" in the File Properties screen.

You might try changing the ‘Open With …" shortcut. Start ‘Windows Explorer,’ then click on ‘View’ … ‘Folder Options’ … ‘File Types’ … ‘Adobe PhotoShop (Elements) File’ … ‘Edit’ … ‘Open’ … ‘Edit’ and change the entry

FROM something like:
"Drive:\Directory\Photoshop.exe" "%1"

TO something like:
"Drive:\Directory\Photoshop.exe" "%1" "%2" "%3" "%4" "%5"

I had the same problem a while back. Easiest way to fix it is. Locate your "SendTo" folder in Windows. Do a search for it and search all Folders and Hidden files if you can’t locate easily. Two folders may show up……….open the one for your individual settings ( not Default user). Once this folder is open, right-click and create a short-cut to Photoshop exe.

Then when you select multiple images just right-click and select Send To and they should all open up easily.

Good Luck, Gene
