I have been a photoshop user for some years. I have CS2 installed and I have bought an upgrade to CS3. I am using Vista Home premium 32 bit.

When I try to install CS3 it starts initially then dissolves away with no error message

I have tried

http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb 402426&sliceId=1

I have done all of this but I still get the same results when trying to install.

Doug

Welcome to CS3 Doug!

I received a copy of CS3 web suite from Adobe and guess what it does exactly the same thing plus have had an error message something to do with Internet Explorer.

Yes Adobe were contacted via emails and even they could not help.

Guess what! I only use 4 of there new products of the CS3, all individually installed, the others from CS2.

Wonder when there will be a resolution to the debacle, they have outsmarted themselves this time.

Hi Mate,

I got an answer from Adobe just a short while ago.
==========================
Manually register the jscript.dll file.

On Windows Vista32:

1. Choose Start > All Programs > Accessories.
2. Right-click the Command icon, choose Run As Administrator, and authenticate.
3. Navigate to Windows\System32.
4. At the prompt, type regsvr32 jscript.dll and press Enter.
5. When a dialog box with the message "DllRegisterServer in jscript.dll
succeeded" appears, click OK.
===============================

This worked for me! HTH

Doug

I had Internet Explorer issue with CS3 installation myself, I GOOGLED and found the information how to remove whatever Internet Explorer left behind (IE still working or not uninstall) and was able to install CS3 on my XT system. It was long ago so I don’t remember the link .. and I believe the information is from MS site

About Vista, I have read lot of problems months before the final CS3 was released, and few weeks ago I read an article about CS3 with Vista 64-bit saying something about the problem that Vista 64 won’t install because the installation file of CS3 is 32-bit. Or Vista has to be set to accept 32-bit (or replacing some DLL?). I only read for fun to remember the link
